The parkland walk that runs from Highgate to Finsbury Park is an abandoned train line. The tracks are gone but the platforms are still in place along the way, and there's a sinister looking closed-off bridge at the Highgate end.

Think theres some online sites you can look on? Lots of places been boarded up, i know some graffiti artists and photographers that used to frequent a few but it's a no go now. Always wanted to do this but never got round to it, mainly the NY Subway like the Freedom Tunnel.

You could ask TFL if you can go and have a look in Aldwych if it's for education based purposes. I've done the tour of the station and it's really interesting.
But as others have pointed out, there are stacks of closed/abandoned stations on the tube map which you can research using the links.

Don't ask permission, just be like Swan in The Warriors and stroll down the underground tracks.
Bet there is some great stuff to see below some of those stations.

North Woolwich is/was a nice station, now being left to rot unfortunately but might still be good for a few snaps.

not London i know, but there's a disused line from St Albans to Hatfield which is now a cycle path but the old station is still there. Now called the 'Alban Way'.

Not London but I got a train from Battlesbridge a few months back. It's as if they started to make a station then thought, fuck this, we'll just leave it like this. Never seen anything like it

Battlesbridge is actually a 'request' stop isn't it?
Maybe not. I don't know how you'd get off there if that was the case.

Manea is also a request only stop. Bizarre place on the Cross Country Stansted airport to Birmingham route. Just a platform or two surrounded by fields.
There are also quite a few bits left of the Audley end to ashdon via saffron walden branch line left that you can get to easily.
I nearly bought the old station house in saffron walden two years ago. Still has part of the platform and one of the old platform lamp-posts (still works) in the back garden.
Would have made me a happy man, but hey ho.

Used to be a couple of good ones near White City. Not sure if they're still there/accessible? They might have been filled in as part of the shopping centre development.

I caught a train from Budapest to Zagreb last year. Some of the stations along the route sound like a couple described here.
Literally a like a shed or garage in the middle of nowhere with platforms which are just like a bit of pavement.
Astonishing.
